Hat wearing is very popular in England, and Kate Middleton, the soon to be wife of Prince Williams, is a fashionista herself who also sports these hats wherever she goes. Kate Middleton, who will be our modern day princess indeed, will take hat wearing to a whole new level among young women.
Kate Middleton's elegant and sophisticated style is already being showcased by the media around the world, as they did so with the late Princess Diana, who was also in the spotlight when it came to her style. What these women have in common already is not only their charitable efforts, but also their dare to wear fashion schemes that breaks free from the traditional fashion plates that the British are famous for.
We don't know for sure though if hat wearing will become a phenomenon again in the States. The Kentucky Derby could be the only place where you might see hat wearing among American women. But we do tend to take a lot of trends from overseas, so this may be one more.
Dress code to this event is of course, hat and gloves. May sound prim and proper, but could be a great excuse to don a hat on and feel like a princess, or even a queen for the day, as onlookers will be watching the wedding on a big screen while sipping tea and nibble on scones.
